LAPUELA Honey has more than 2000 beehives found in Cangas del Narcea, Ibias, Allande and Tineo and produces more than 4o tons of honey per year.

Pola de Allande, 1941. The parish priest, better known as the bee priest, taught a beekeeping course that changed the direction of the boy Alfonso Pérez and his family. The hopes of this young man came true in 2005, when Alfonso Pérez, the son of that relentless little boy attracted to the fascinating world of bees, decided to train as a professional beekeeper and start his own honey production, initially selling in bulk until he founded La Puela in 2009, joined by his brother Luis Pérez.

This company was founded in a small packaging plant that allow them to be autonomous and carry out their own production without resorting to third parties. Their main interest was to offer not only exceptional quality, but also use remarkable packaging that would attract the consumer’s attention to the final product. The year 2012 was a year of rewards. ICEX’S support in an export project for small companies encouraged them to make a leap abroad and start selling internationally. Nowadays they have more than 2,000 hives in Cangas del Narcea, Ibias, Allande and Tineo. The fruit of this apiary business is more than 40 tonnes of honey per year.
