Pollen
A FIRST-RATE FOOD SUPPLEMENT
Pollen is an excellent nutritional supplement, with a rich and full composition depending on the plants from which it comes from. It contains around 40% sugar, 20% protein, 2% fat, all of the essential amino acids and a wide range of vitamins (A, B1, B2, B6…). In addition, it is a great source of antioxidants, flavonoids, phytosterols and minerals.
The bees collect pollen from polliniferous flowers and mixing it with a little nectar, they knead small balls which they carry to the hive in the sacks located in their rear legs. Once they reach the hive, they store it in the cells of the combs for their subsequent consumption.
Pollen is essential for their health and adequate development, that is why in LAPUELA Honey we only harvest the surplus which the bees will not use.
