Summer heather honey proceeds mainly from heather flower nectar, Erica cinerea, a short shrub which is prevalent in our mountains, the flowering of this shrub occurs during summer season.
This honey has an intense floral aroma. It has a sweet flavour and practically no bitterness, unlike the honey from the heather which blooms in spring.
